Biography
CiCi Gonzalez. was born Cecilia Marie Segura Gonzalez in the city
of San Gabriel, California.
CiCi studied art through private schools and East Los Angeles College in California. She also has worked and printed at Self-Help Graphics Studio in Los Angeles, California. CiCi apprenticed and studied with New York artist, Dale Maix.
Earlier in her career, she has worked in London and Los Angeles, as an in-house artist, fashion illustrator, storyboard artist and art director. She then went on to work for the Walt Disney Company, as an artist and designer. At the same time, CiCi continued to do her fine art and exhibit on a regular basis.
She is currently an Artist-in-Residence with the Los Angeles based non-profit foundation,Theatre of Hearts/ Youth First, teaching the visual arts to at-risk youth and incarcerated teens.
Her works include oil, acrylic, watercolor, etching and woodcut. Her collectors are international (Brazil, France, England, Spain and Argentina) as well as being held in private collections in the United States.
Artist Statement
I have always been fascinated by uncharted territory and infinite space... the ocean with ts hidden treasures, the universe with its endless sky, and the human mind with its labyrinth of secrets. These three mysteries are my favorite subjects. When I paint, these are the worlds I enter and explore on canvas. They draw me into their energy force and I begin a journey with no direction but with a definite purpose... Expression and sensation without words.
