WEEKEND OF WOMEN’S ART & POETRY
"VISIONS, DREAMS AND METAPHORS" and "PINTA TU PROPIO MUNDO"

Los Angeles, July 17 -Tropico de Nopal Gallery-Art space is proud to present a weekend of art and poetry by women.  "VISIONS, DREAMS AND METAPHORS" opens Friday August 1st with an art exhibition by contemporary women artists representing the eclectic mix of Los Angeles.  The exhibition will feature Linda Arreola,Cici Gonzalez,, Michele Fraichard, Poli Marichal,Cindy Suriani, Guadalupe Rodriguez and Sandy Rodriguez.
On Saturday August 2nd Central American and Chicana women join forces for an evening under the stars of poetry/spoken word and performance "Pinta Tu Propio Mundo" (Paint Your Own World) with guest poets: Sandra Muñoz , Rossana Perez, Olga Garcia, Jessica Grande hosted by Leticia Hernandez.
The women reading series began at Galeria de la Raza in San Francisco two years ago. The first event brought together Latina writers and performance artists at various stages in their artistic development. The 2003 event will focus on crossing geographic and national stages by featuring Centroamericana and Chicana voices from Los Angeles.
