"Ofrendas 2002" - Dia de los Muertos Altar-Installations.

Artist-Curator Reyes Rodriguez has brought together fellow artists with a long tradition of participating in the East Los Angeles Dia de los Muertos celebrations, along with invited guest and prominent artists from other disciplines to celebrate this special day. Eriberto (artist and photographer), Ofelia Esparza (well known artist-altarista), Christina Fernandez (photographer), Willie Herrón (artist, muralist and musician), Omar Nava (guest artist from Tijuana), and Honorio Robledo (children's book illustrator and jarocho musician) will bring their diverse backgrounds and styles to the indoor and outdoor Altar-Installations at Tropico de Nopal.

An evening of Poetry / Spoken Word is scheduled for the following Saturday, November 9 featuring Adrian Arancibia and Angelo Gastelúm (acclaimed San Diego "Taco Shop Poet" and accompanist), Cristina Rivera-Garza (San Diego poet), Jen Hofer (poet and contemporary Mexican women poetry translator), Adolfo Guzman Lopez (poet and KPCC reporter), and Reina A. Prado (poet and curator).
