Tropico de Nopal Studio-Art Space opens its door to celebrate “Dia De Los Muertos” (The Day of the Dead). This year, curated by Diane Gamboa, five intriguing and talented artists will transform the studio into an intimate atmosphere of altars and installations. Sol Alvarez, Sandra De La Loza, Kathy Gallegos, Francesco Siqueiros and Ixrael will bring their diverse backgrounds and styles to enhance the many special celebrations that will be taking place throughout Los Angeles. “Dia de los Muertos” has become a special day of celebration in the Chicano/Latino art community adopted from the cultural traditions of Mexico dating back to pre-columbian times.
